Mark White received his Eagle Scout Award at the Boy Scout Troop 74 Court of Honor that was held for him in the Father Rausch Hall on September 20th. Mark as you know, is the son of Karen and Edward White and he joins his Eagle Scout brothers Edward and James in attaining this prestigious award. The White family has been an essential part of Troop 74, having had all three of their sons become Eagle Scouts.

St. Paul's held it's Annual Church Picnic on Sunday, August 26th. This year it was held at Firemen's Park and the folks from the United Emory Methodist Church were invited to join us for an afternoon of fun and fellowship.

The day turned out to be a beautiful sunny and nice day for such an event. We had a great variety of the "dish to pass" food and desserts as well as watermelon, ice cream, burgers and dogs.

Chee Chee the clown made an appearance doing his Christian Clown Routine, he not only entertained the kids, but the adults as well.

Rosemary Bennett brought in a couple of surprises. She trucked in a couple of well groomed sheep that her granddaughter, Megan Hunter had showed at the Walton Fair as a 4H project.
On Saturday August 11th, Madilynn Gustin was Baptized at St. Paul's 5 PM Mass. The parents are Jason Gustin and Kristen Gill Gustin. God parents are Nicole Rosenberger and Matt Dennis.

Vacation Bible School for 2012 was sponsored by St. Paul's and held in the Father Rausch Hall on July 30, 31, August 6, and 7th from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. Volunteers from Emory United Methodist Church and St. Paul's were on hand to make VBS a learning and fun experience for the youngsters that attended.

The theme for this year was Sonrise. The kids not only had lessons about our relationship with God and Jesus, but also experienced the importance of teamwork and how faith plays an important part of their everyday life.

Pilgrimage to St. Ann’s Basilica

On July 20, fourteen members of St. Paul’s parish braved the rain and attended the Solemn Novena of St. Ann at the Basilica of St. Ann in Scranton, Pennsylvania. St. Ann is revered as the mother of our Holy Mother Mary and also the grandmother of Jesus. Led by Father Chris, the group of pilgrims viewed the grounds and had time for silent prayer before attending Mass and the novena prayers. The novena began on July 17 and will continue till July 25, the feast day of Sts. Ann and Joachim.
