Parish Happenings
3rd Quarter of 2006

September 29th was a glorious day for St. Paul's, with the arrival of our new altar. The altar was blessed and Father Stephen said Mass at the altar that same evening. The altar will be the focal point of the sanctuary for many many years to come.

On Sunday September 17th, during the 10:00 AM Mass, Tony and Betty Argiros celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows.

September 8, 2006 was a special day at St. Paul's. Father Stephen was officially installed as our pastor, even though he has been our priest for the past eight years. Father McDivitt from Margaretville,  who is the Dean for Delaware County presided at the Mass, along with Father Flannery from Walton. A dinner at the LaSalette Restaurant followed the Mass with about 114 people in attendance. The special evening was a way to celebrate the occasion and as well as a way for everyone to bid Father Stephen farewell on his upcoming sabbatical. Sunday, September 10th a reception was held in the Father Rausch Hall after the 10 AM Mass.

On September 2, 2006 Eli Christopher Weyer was Baptized at St. Paul's by Father Stephen. The parents are Christopher and Sarah Edwards Weyer.

Monday, August 14th, the Bethany Ministries served a luncheon for the family of Edwin Dirig. Edwin was the brother of Helena Dirig and Fr. Edwin Dirig. On Friday the 18th they served again for the family of Irvin Iversen.

Saturday August 5th was the first meeting for the new group called Mary's Flowers. Seven young girls attended and enjoyed the morning by first attending Mass then a meeting at the rectory, followed by some refreshments.

On July 12th the Bethany Ministry served a funeral luncheon for the family and friends of Rose Dillon and on July 27th a luncheon was provided for family and friends of Danny Reiser.

Vacation Bible School was held at the Father Rausch Hall on July 24,25,27, and 28th. This year the thyme was Son-Treasure Island. Between 30 to 40 area children enjoyed VBS this year by learning about Jesus in a different and fun way. Thanks to everyone that helped make it a success.
