Sacrament of Baptism
Please call the parish office to arrange for Baptism.
We suggest making the contact during pregnancy so that a more thorough preparation may take place. Godparents need to be practicing Catholics.
Baptisms are usually performed during the Mass.

Sacrament of Matrimony
For adequate preparation, arrangements should be made at least 6 months in advance.

 Sacrament of Anointing
Please let the parish office know if someone is seriously ill. If you know of anyone who is unable to get to Mass, we would be glad to help arrange transportation.

PAUCA VERBA

Dear Friends;
Easter Sunday is such a special day. There are so many who have offered themselves and their gifts over the whole of Holy Week. I am thankful to so many who have worked so hard to make these days special.
Thank you to:
• Paul, Kate, Jerry, Bob, and Kevin who have worked behind the scenes making me look like I know what I am doing.
• The servers, lectors, and Eucharistic ministers who helped out at the liturgies.
• Maureen, Shirley, Tina, Maria and all who made the church look so clean and pretty
• Socorro, Bob, Diane, and all who helped with the Easter baskets, Egg Hunt and breakfast.
• Especially Cathy and the choir who provided the beautiful music for our liturgies.
The mystery of Easter is a mystery that takes time to understand. I pray you may come to worship again with us in the 50 days of Easter, 10 more days than Lent.
One of my Lenten books was Doers of the Word by Archbishop Timothy Dolan of NY. Here are his thoughts on Easter.

"Everything in life depends on Easter, doesn't it? Whether or not you believe in Easter, when Jesus "passed over" from death to life, is the most pivotal decision one can make.
The answer to that question-do you believe in Easter?-resolves most of the other nagging questions in life, in the end, what will win?
Death or life?
Despair or Hope?
Hate or Love?
Darkness or Light?
Winter or Spring?
Doubt or Faith?
Nothingness or eternity?
Getting or Giving?
Bullies or nice guys?
Hell or Heaven?
Revenge or mercy?
Snow or sun?
Tears or Laughter?
 Isolation or unity?
Tension or tenderness?

It really depends on Easter, doesn't it?

My wishes for a happy and blessed Easter for you and your loved ones
Fr. Chris

EASTER SUNDAY. The Risen Christ gives all people a new hope. It is truly a time for rejoicing. Our efforts with Catholic Relief Services’ Operation Rice Bowl have also given hope and new chances to many of our sisters and brothers throughout the
world. Even though our Lenten journey is over, our solidarity with the poor needs to continue all year long. Visit crs.org to stay connected with the Church’s work on behalf of those in need around the world.

WATER. A glorious and lovely custom, the origins of the Easter bath date back a little more than thousand years, from the time that large numbers of eastern Europeans first accepted Christianity and were baptized into the faith.
The custom takes many forms. It can be as sensuous as taking a warm, perfumed bath by candle light. And it can be as silly as tossing water balloons on the unsuspecting.
Water is precious to Christians. It reminds us of the rivers of paradise, the great flood and the Red Sea. In baptism we enter those waters to be created anew. In baptism we are led safely to freedom. Baptismal waters are like a tomb. In them we die, are buried and are raised with Christ. The waters are like a womb. In them we are reborn.
Throughout Easter time, the 50 days from Easter until Pentecost, on the feast of the Baptism of the Lord each January and on the actual anniversary of your own celebration of the first sacrament, remember and renew your baptism. Ask parents and godparents what they can recollect about it. What mementoes can you find—your robe, candle or certificate?
Set a bowl brimming with water on the kitchen table. Morning and night, take some water on your fingertips and make the sign of the cross as a pledge of resurrection.

STEWARDSHIP

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have; God is pleased by sacrifices of that kind. Hebrews 13:16
